So we got a couple of things brewing here. This is a look behind the scenes of one of them. It’s another collaboration with our buddy Kiel Johnson, Arthur Mor, Devon Tsuno and the students of Cypress College. We were lucky enough to be asked to put our Roger spin on things. We took over part of the campus for the day and had ourselves a lil party. Only a few robots were injured in the making but nuthin a lil hot glue couldn’t fix.

As all good things must come to a close, it was fitting that Roger was tapped to design and animate the Promo for the season finale of ABC’s LOST. WHY? Because we are all DIE HARD LOST FANS of course.  We have LOST parties every week and our talented team all wanted in on this little piece of history. This project was finished in just one fast and furious weekend! Check out some of the action below….

Best Friends are so hard to find, but not for the twelve Artists debuting R&R’s first Gallery Show tomorrow night. They have created their own best friend forever using mannequins as their canvas. Come out and see what they look like, and help us celebrate the first of many shows to come!

(If you are really jealous of these BFF’s you can buy one for a price, sorry no loaners available)

Are you ready for fall? These pics will make you want to pull out your firewood and break out your parka.  Only it was shot in summer on one of the hottest days of the year. Another great campaign directed by Mike G.

Here’s a lil project that never saw the light of day. In the interest of never letting good ideas die, we’d like to share them with ya’ll. Roger was tapped to create a series of webisodes to promote the release of Ladytron’s album, Velocifero.

It was an interesting process from the get go. We had an initial call with members of the band who told us to go wild. They had some initial thoughts on tone and broad aesthetic suggestions but really kept it open creatively. One interesting reference they had was to a dream sequence in the animated film Watership Down.

The overall tone of the movie is pretty dark. Which to us seemed like a welcome change to the work we usually produce. We felt the need to flex our emo muscle…(its the tear duct).

1st Direction

In our first effort we pitched the idea of having four vignettes strung together with a loose narrative. The over-arching theme was the idea of escape from the industrialization of the world. Our main character is a young girl who changes between animal forms in order to outrun the big bad notion of Industry. In various vignettes, Industry is depicted as a polluted sludge monster, an industrial tornado or a wave of destruction much like the Nothing in the Never Ending Story.

The glass is half full.

Repurposing advertisements, we created an animated collage on a simple idea: Optimism.

Roger was happy to create movie titles used on the Playing For Change Documentary Film. Check out the movie trailer and links to to learn more about the people involved and get a taste for the music.
